Our Story

Hey there! I'm Mitcho, one half of the Salty Days duo, and I’m here to share a bit about our story and how our Floaterz floating sunnies and Salty Days came to life. Together, with my partner Cozzy, we’ve spent the last few years on an incredible adventure aboard our catamaran, Ocean Lady. We set sail from Perth in May 2022, cruising up the stunning west coast of Australia and living our dream life on the water.

But our journey took an unexpected turn when Cozzy, during a routine check-up, discovered a cancerous lump in her liver. It was a scary time, but Cozzy faced it head-on with her usual bravery and grit. After a major operation and a couple of months rest, she was back on her feet and ready to return to Ocean Lady - without needing a single drop of chemo. It was a wake-up call to cherish every moment, and we felt more alive and grateful than ever. I reflect on our blessings every day.

Knowing now, more than ever, that we wanted to explore the world and embrace adventure, we joined a rally that took us from the easternmost side of Indonesia to Batam, West Indonesia, and finally to Malaysia. Sailing an unforgettable 9,000 nautical miles.

Along the way, we met some of the most incredible, warm-hearted people - fellow adventurers who quickly became lifelong friends, and welcoming locals who embraced us like family.

So, how did Floaterz - our floating polarised sunglasses- come about?

Imagine you're sailing in crystal-clear waters, soaking up the sunshine, when - splash! Another pair of sunnies slips off and vanishes into the depths. This happened to us more times than we’d like to admit! Losing sunglasses wasn’t just frustrating; it was disheartening to think about them adding to the ocean’s waste.

One day, we thought, "What if we could create sunglasses that float?" And that’s how Floaterz was born! We set out to design sunglasses that are not only stylish and durable but also float, keeping them from sinking and helping to protect our precious oceans.

Our Salty Days Journey

It didn’t take us long to realise that our vision went far beyond sharing our innovative floating sunglasses with the world through Floaterz. We wanted more… and we saw an incredible opportunity to not only equip fellow adventurers but also make a meaningful impact on the planet - and so, Salty Days was born.

From our Salty Straps Adventure Hats, our Barefoot Eco Sunnies, WorkKing Safety Sunnies and our latest beach designs of Surf Vision, we’ve created a full range of Salty Days adventure gear to keep you exploring in style and comfort. Whether you’re soaking up the sunshine, breathing in the fresh air or you're hardat work, our gear offers protection while making a difference. By repurposing unwanted waste like fishing nets, coffee beans, and plastics, we’re doing our part to help the planet.

We didn’t stop there. As workers ourselves, we knew the importance of versatile protection for hard work and play. That’s why we launched WorkKing Safety Sunnies range that seamlessly transitions from the worksite to adventure.
